I was born in Kokomo, but was raised mostly in the beautiful hills of Tennessee. My family moved back and forth several times before I graduated from Western High School in Russiaville, Indiana. Lafayette has become my home, but I travel back to Tennessee several times each year to see family and friends. After serving four years in the Army, I came home to Kokomo and went to work at Continental Steel Corporation where I was awarded an electrical apprenticeship and became a journeyman electrician. After working there for seven years, the company went under, and I decided to use the opportunity to go to college and get my degree. I attended IVTC and Dayton Technical Institute, earning a degree in electronics technologies; and eventually worked my way to division manager at Brand Electric. I was also fortunate to work with my dad, who owned a contracting business – and that’s where my career in real estate and lending began! With my dad’s encouragement, I went back to school and got my Real Estate license and worked with him for several years until he retired. Around that time, I got married and moved to Lafayette and went to work for Century 21 Real Estate. After working there for a few years, a friend introduced me to the district manager for GMAC Mortgage, and he offered me a chance to help him open a new branch office in Lafayette. That was my first experience in home lending, and I knew quickly that this is what I was meant to do! I also worked as a branch manager at Marathon Mortgage, senior mortgage officer for Bank of America, and with a local real estate company before coming to Hallmark Home Mortgage. I’m committed to staying at the forefront of my industry, and have earned my Indiana Real Estate, Real Estate Law, and State and National Mortgage Originator licenses.

My wife, Julie, and I have two children, both girls, and four grandchildren, all girls. They keep us both plenty busy! We attend Faith Baptist Church and I assist with my dad’s church in Kokomo. I also helped start the Lafayette Christian Association of Real Estate Professionals and work with them from time to time and am involved with several originations that put on a Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner program for those who don’t have anywhere to go. I enjoy all kinds of sports and have a true love of fishing. I go whenever I can! I spend time with my family and friends as much as possible and continue to work to be the best I can be in life and business.
