Shawna McDonald - Underwriter

I began working in the mortgage industry in 2002 when I started as an automated underwriting specialist with Waterfield Mortgage. I then moved on to become an underwriter and obtained my DE to underwrite FHA mortgages. After Waterfield, I worked for Citimortgage as a broker underwriter for home equity loans. I began with Hallmark Home Mortgage in the fall of 2009.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two children, working out at the gym and reading. I also teach Sunday school and volunteer at my children's schools.

My customer service philosophy is to always try to put myself in the customer's position and understand their needs. I think that it is important that I provide customer service the same way I would expect to receive it.

What I like most about working at Hallmark is the people. Everyone works together to get the job done and it is such a benefit to work with so many people that have such extensive mortgage experience.
