Lary Lohse - Senior Mortgage Consultant

Growing up in rural southern Ohio, there were two main activities: watching the corn grow and sports. So, I played baseball, basketball, and then more baseball.

After a stint as a pitcher with the Detroit Tigers, I went on to graduate magna cum laude with a college degree in business. I worked in consumer loans until 22 years ago, became a mortgage consultant with Colony Mortgage in Columbus, Ohio, then transferred to Cincinnati with Colony.

In December 2007, Colony closed its doors and was purchased by American Midwest Mortgage. When Hallmark Home Mortgage opened an office in the Cincinnati area, I chose to work with their experienced, dedicated professionals.

Among my community-service activities: vice president of BFI, board member of Adams County MRDD, and past president of the Seaman Lions Club.

When I’m not working, I spend time with my high school sweetheart and wife of 38 years. We have two wonderful daughters (with husbands) and six extraordinary grandchildren. We live on 25 acres in the wilds of Adams County, where we can sit outside and watch the deer, turkey and raccoons eat our garden.

Throughout my career, I’ve developed consistent referrals from realty companies and repeat business from satisfied customers. My specialties include varying types of residential loans, such as conventional, FHA, VA, bond and rural development. My ability to work with customers with credit difficulties is very rewarding when I see them through the mortgage loans. Constantly studying to keep up with the sundry changes in the mortgage loan field is another way I can serve my customers.
